When athletes grow, the entire nation rises with them. My core mission has always been to build a system that not only supports elite performers but also nurtures emerging talent across the country. Through structured training, inclusive programming, and long-term planning, I have worked to ensure that Nepali athletes have the tools and opportunities they need to succeed – both at home and on the global stage.

High-Performance Training

To elevate the competitive standard of our national teams, I formed a High-Performance Committee tasked with designing and implementing elite training models. This led to the launch of 90-day intensive training programs as well as the introduction of year-round (365-day) training schedules for national teams. These changes have helped bring discipline, consistency, and international-level preparation into our athlete development system.

Special Initiatives

Recognizing the diverse needs within our sports community, I introduced targeted programs to support areas that had been long overlooked. These included:

  • Adventure sports initiatives to tap into Nepal’s natural strengths and geography.
  • Dedicated support for para-sports, ensuring that differently-abled athletes receive proper training, recognition, and opportunity.
  • Post-COVID recovery programs aimed at revitalizing athlete morale, restoring training continuity, and reengaging communities after the pandemic’s disruption.

These special focus areas have brought new energy and inclusion to our national sports environment.

Talent Hunt for Olympic Preparation

Investing in the future means identifying talent early and nurturing it with care. Through a nationwide Talent Hunt program, we collected data from 1,604 athletes across various disciplines. From this pool, we selected 70 high-potential individuals for long-term development – with a clear roadmap aimed at preparing them for the Olympics over the next eight years. This data-driven approach reflects my belief in long-term vision and strategic investment in our next generation of champions.
