The formulation of these directives was driven by a deep-seated commitment to promoting the holistic development of sports in Nepal while prioritizing the welfare and safety of its participants. Collaborating closely with government agencies, insurance experts, sports federations, and relevant stakeholders, I meticulously crafted a set of comprehensive guidelines that outlined the parameters and coverage of sports insurance.

The directives encompassed a wide array of aspects, including but not limited to:

• Athlete Coverage: Ensuring that athletes at all levels, from grassroots to elite, are provided with adequate insurance coverage for injuries sustained during training, competitions, and related activities.
• Medical Expenses: Facilitating access to quality medical care and covering associated expenses for injuries sustained in the course of sports participation, thereby relieving the financial burden on athletes and their families.
• Disability and Loss of Income: Providing provisions for disability benefits and compensation for loss of income resulting from sports-related injuries, ensuring sustained support for athletes in the event of incapacitation.
• Liability Protection: Safeguarding sports organizations, coaches, and event organizers against potential liabilities arising from accidents or injuries incurred by participants or spectators.
• Educational Initiatives: Implementing educational programs to raise awareness among athletes, coaches, and administrators about the importance of sports insurance and how to navigate the claims process effectively.
