I believe sports administration must embrace technology and innovation to stay effective, inclusive, and future-focused. During my tenure at the National Sports Council (NSC), I made it a mission to modernize how we manage, support, and promote sports in Nepal. From digital infrastructure to data-driven planning, these initiatives reflect my commitment to making our systems smarter and more accessible.
Anthropometric Research for Scientific Planning
Understanding that one-size-fits-all policies don’t work in a geographically diverse country like Nepal, I led the introduction of anthropometric research in our sports planning. This initiative brought a scientific and evidence-based approach to athlete development. By collecting and analyzing data based on local physical and environmental conditions, we can now tailor training and talent identification to the specific needs and strengths of each region.
Digital Transformation of the NSC
To bring greater transparency, accessibility, and efficiency, I oversaw a complete digital overhaul of the National Sports Council.
Key developments included:
- Launching an official NSC website and mobile application to streamline record-keeping and enhance transparency across sports associations.
- Introducing digital tools for scheduling, e-ticketing systems for the Swimming Pool, and a dynamic sports event calendar to better organize national events.
- Promoting active engagement through NSC’s social media platforms, allowing the public to stay informed and involved in real-time.
These tools have made NSC more user-friendly, responsive, and aligned with global standards.
Sports City Development
To decentralize sports infrastructure and bring facilities closer to communities, I fostered collaborative partnerships with local municipalities to begin developing Sports Cities across the country. This initiative supports regional development, encourages mass participation in sports, and helps identify local talent by giving athletes better access to training and competition venues.
